How do I make an appointment?
To make an appointment, please call Randwick Paediatrics office on 02 9326 4333 and one of our reception staff will assist you.
What documentation should I bring for my appointment?
Please ensure you bring the following documentation with you:
- A valid referral from your general practitioner or another specialist
- Your child’s Medicare card
- Your child’s health & development record (i.e. the “blue book”)
- Letters or reports from other doctors, health professionals or your child’s school
- Previous xRays, scans or blood tests results
How long will the first appointment be?
Duration of your first appointment varies depending on the complexity of the issue. Usually appointments are between 30 and 60 minutes.
What are your consultation fees?
At the time of booking, our reception staff will inform you of our fees and out of pocket expenses and answer any of your questions. Our specialists and therapists are independent practitioners and consultation fees will vary depending on your child’s needs.
We would request that accounts are settled on the day. We accept cash, EFTPOS, Mastercard and Visa.
What Medicare rebates are available for me?
Medicare rebates are available to cover a portion of the consultation fee. For your convenience, we are able to process this claim, as long as your child is registered with Medicare, your rebate will be automatically deposited into your bank account within 24-48 hours.
As we are a specialist practice, patients need a written referral to be eligible for a Medicare rebate. A GP referral is valid for 12 months and a specialist’s referral is valid for 3 months.
Consultations with Psychologists under an appropriate Medicare plan (Better Access to mental health care) are also eligible for a Medicare rebate. In order to access a Medicare rebate, you need to consult your GP to discuss whether your child’s concerns meet the criteria for a mental health care plan to be created.
Do I need a referral to see a Psychologist?
No, a referral is not required for an appointment with the Psychologist.
However, if your child has an appropriate Medicare plan you will be eligible for a Medicare rebate. Our reception staff will be happy to assist you and answer any of your questions.
How do I cancel my appointment?
As soon as you are aware that you are unable to attend your booked appointment, please call our office so that we may be able to allocate your time to another child on the waiting list. Appointments are confirmed by SMS 48-72 hours prior to your child’s appointment.
A cancellation fee may apply for appointments cancelled less than 48 hours in advance.
